San Francisco

You can’t mention the city of San Fran without thinking of The Golden Gate Bridge, Steep sloping streets with their iconic cable cars, Fisherman’s Wharf and of course, Alcatraz.

Fishermans Wharf isn’t just about the sea, you can see all the tourist attractions San Francisco has to offer by land or air too. Food has a big place in San Francisco and, although it’s not traditional with the locals, a bowl of creamy chowder (which is originally an east coast dish) is taken to another level when sampled from a San Francisco sour dough bowl.

Don’t forget the Coit tower with 360 views of the city and the ‘painted ladies’ on Hayes and Steiner Street and who doesn’t want to sip a cold fresh beer from one of Americas first and oldest craft breweries. If you’re after something different, then Dolores Park is for you with tightrope walking, hula hooping, and plenty of people-watching you’ll feel like local kicking back at this urban park.

San Francisco is also the gateway to Yosemite National Park and The Napa Valley which makes it the perfect starting or finishing destination for any West Coast escape.

Did you know: That the colour of the golden gate bridge is in fact the colour of the primer, but the architect loved it so much he kept it as the official colour and it is called International Orange
